No one likes sports? Lewis! I called it!

I guess I have a lot to learn about this board, but I'll celebrate anyways.

I called it! I totally called the fight tonight and have free beers for a couple of weekends. I not only called the winner, but what round.

So, now that I am a boxing critic: Tyson is done! He'll have one more fight with another no name and it will be a weak fight that entertains no one. Tyson will probably win, but it wont matter cuz no one will give a shit.

Lewis will fight Michael Grant. I cant predict the winner, but I know it is to get a younger fighter some spotlight. Holyfield wants a rematch, but 2 fights is enough. Lewis wants to retire, but the boxing association knows to keep some kind of publicity they need to pass the baton. They will beg and plead with money and Lewis will give in for one more fight. It will be advertised as Lewis' last fight and will draw some viewers from real boxing fans.

What pissed me off about Tyson fans, is they dont know shit about boxing. They actually thought he had a chance! PATHETIC!

SHIT! The fight wasnt even in Vegas. It was in Memphis!! Sound like any other sport you know that has there main events in small venues? How about WWE? Or WWF for those that remember.

Boxing isnt gone, it just needs to learn how to advertise. I love it, but I even know that fools follow the media and that is why they believed Tyson had a chance. Put Rahman on and hype him up! He sucks, but hyping it will make people watch.

Trust me! This public watches Survivor, how hard is it to compete with that?

I would say that Tyson was an amazing boon to boxing, actually. Jebus, talk about Marquee Stars. Put the name Tyson into a fight card and automatically everybody is fucking interested.

Tyson still might fight Holyfield again. If he had won tonight, that would have been the next match, I promise.

Lewis sort of reminds me of the latest Star Wars movies. Beforehand, everybody says "It's gonna be great! It's gonna be great!" And then it comes out and it sort of sucks, and yet everybody still says "Well, it was still sort of great!" He's a good fighter but he's been skating. I still don't know about his jaw and even barring tonight, he hasn't really had to battle it out for his title yet. Who's he fought, really? He's been taking advantage of the fact that the current contenders all sort of suck.

I was having an argument about how this match would go with a co-worker the other day and I said three things: 1. Tyson will be really friggin' on and he'll knock Lewis out. 2. Tyson will be in terrible form and Lewis will win handidly on a decision (which I thought most likely). 3. Tyson will get disqualified. I was sorta right anyway.

Granted, I say these things not having seen the fight tonight and thus not really knowing what the fuck I am talking about.

In any event, The Lost, just so you know, we have a few other forums for more specific threads. Gaming and Sports is the one devoted to this kind of thing (and even more nerdish endeavors) (notwithstanding the Limeys trying to take it over with World Cup crap). I'm gonna move this thread over there and leave the redirect here so you can follow it. Check it out, it's a decent forum (Limeys notwithstanding).

Dude? Who would shoot him? I dont think he'll be involved in anything in society. He has never had a news report where someone hassled him in public. He stays away from the public. There is no way in hell Holyfield would fight Tyson. The fights where being predicted "hypothetically" after this fight. Boxing felt Lewis was going to win. Michael Grant was being the name thrown around. This dude is a bad ass, but made a serious rookie mistake in his fight with Lewis by leaving his chin open.

Holyfield said that Tyson was going to win this fight, not to get another match with Tyson, but to talk shit to Lewis. He knows Lewis will probably retire and wanted to taunt Lewis to fight him again.

If you are a professional and has made millions and you have beaten EVERYONE! Wouldnt you just leave? You dont think so, but you arent Lewis. He has beaten everyone and he knows it is a good time to leave. He is 36. Holyfield wants to earn the title and not get it by a promoted fight, so he can add to his legacy.

If you were dissapointed by tonights fight, then I dont suggest you watch another. Heavyweight boxing is slower than what you are going to expect. I thought tonight was one of the best I have ever seen. Boxing is slow and about strategy. Not this hyped up 3 round knockout shit like Tyson used to promote. Watch some old Ali fights and you will see real boxing. If you want action in boxing, then watch "feather" weight. Those fuckers move.

face it bowmore, he was having an identity crisis. You get brought up to the age of 12 in Britian then move to Canada. Big deal you is still British. He has always travelled on a British passport. Even when he won the gold medla for Canada at the Olympics he was travelling on a British passport.
