What movie has had a strong inpact on you, either growing up or today?

I gotta say:


how can this not rock? Cool charaters, great quotes, groovy scenery, cheesy plotline and yet not stupid.

and I have realised that there are some people in this world not aware of this cult classic... how I will never understand.

Must be an age thing.

ah well, who wants to live forever?

Labrynth. I couldn't live without it. Cheesy, but good music, descent plot, lots of visuals. I used to watch it up to 4 times/day, generally at least twice. I still have it memorized.

i don't watch many movies, really. american beauty impacted me when i saw it, though i can't say it left a lasting impression. didn't change my life or anything. i don't think any media has impacted me seriously upon my viewing it.

One night my friends and I, in some collective fit of masochism, rented and watched "Ticks" "Flesh Gordon" and "Meet the Feebles" back to back.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off ,The Breakfast Club are obvious, although i always get pissed off when the broody chick from the breakfast club suddenly becomes a molly ringwald clone and gets the guy - at the same time ending up looking like a complete twat. Why couldn't the geek end up getting laid? Same with Life as a House... although I havent seen it... i would like to know why the fuck does the antisocial/non-conformist kid have to get rid of his/her piercings and dress like a goddamn pretty boy in order to become a decent human? Movies that treat legitimate subcultures that arent all puffed up and all nice and pretty for conservative, average joe.
I would like to see a film where the kid embraces their clique and still manages to become a well balanced member of society... because it may suprise some people to know that this kind of thing actually happens every now and again.
