I'm making this list with a Little Feat tape playing, and "Brides of Jesus" just started. Lowell George was absolutely amazing as a songwriter and musician. I'm disappointed that he gets so little popular recognition.
this one is too hard. i could go through my cds and pick 3 or 4 from each.
hmm.
john lennon - oh yoko
ben folds five - narcolepsy
...and you will know us by the trail of dead - source tags and codes
jeff buckley - lover, you should have come over

the rolling stones - sweet virginia
necrophagist - fermented offal discharge (guitar solo at end = incredible)
sisters of mercy - temple of love (sentimental reasons)

phobia - means of existence (only way i can get to sleep is to play it on repeat, if i dont have this cd, i dont sleep)
eyehategod - ruptured heart theory (music i listen to when im sad, its pretty misanthropic so i identify with it pretty easily)
dystopia - stress builds character (helped me through a lot of hard times, any one who knows this song (mugtoe?) would probably know what im talking about)
burzum - war (same reason i listen to eyehategod)
los crudos - asesinos (even though its not in english, the passion martin has for his cause is incredible, and it comes through in the music, really powerful stuff)
brutal truth - denial of existence and antihomophobe (both off the extreme conditions cd, because they are both incredible songs)
nasum - the whole inhale/exhale cd. ive listened to this thousands of times, incredible stuff.
Hedningarna - Min skog

anything by Esoteric
and a lot of new-age stuff reinterpreting the use of old/foreign instruments.
Immortal - Battles in the North (ultimate black metal tune)
and yeah, I wore out Human = Garbage for months when I was still in Texas.
If you've never checked out Rorschach, GB, you really should. There's a discography CD called "Autopsy" that's got most all of their stuff on it. I think you'd really like em a lot. I've got most of their stuff on vinyl as well and a CD of a show they did at an Italian squat back in the early 90s. They were only together for about three years.
