Racing the Sun

well kids

I'm here

Drove from Columbus OH to Sweet Springs MO 1st day (tried to make it to Kansas city, but buckled.. Sweet Springs is 1 hr east of there)... and drove the rest of the way the second day.

managed to get slightly lost, but found my way eventually.

so. what have I learned from all of this?

1, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio look pretty much the same.
2, People in Illinois have alot of free time on their hands, or they are very nosy. I was driving through, listening to a classic rock station... and for at least 10 minutes they read off all the auto moving violations, thefts, arrests, citations, and anything else that related in that catagory... I patictulary liked hearing about the "cow spillage" (direct quote). I also learned that Mary somethingorother got arrested for possession of canabis, and that someone stole an unknown amount of quarters from an arcade machiene.
3, red bull doesn't give you wings, but it does help you when you can't see the road anymore cos you've been driving for 10 hrs and can't focus anymore.
4, People are real friendly to you and like to wave when they see that you are from the same state they are.
5, MO is real beautiful country, and Kansas city was fun to drive through... I'd like to go back for a visit someday.
6, Kansas is not all flat... but driving through the western half sucked.
7, so did driving through the eastern half of Colorado
8, but neither are as flat as the Great Black Swamp farmland in Ohio.
9, I have left some good family & friends back home.
10, I can still find my way through a place after being there before for a brief period
11, there is apparently a store in kansas that has bras which sizes range from 20 a to 50 G... I am wondering what kinda chicks live there to create a demand for 50 G sized bras... don't most chicks with titties that big order them special? I fear seeing that town.

and so...

I was walking around today in Manitou... this town has so much charater, and the people are friendly, and the backdrop is amazing. It's everything I could ever want in a town

and I feel very odd and out of place here.
I am feeling like a puss puss and I may become very shy, because I never have done good with new people in unfamiliar situations.

Oh, and the guys in this town are sexay!

once while driving across the country I heard a show on the radio where people call in with things they are selling. "I got a screen door, $10. Call me" "I got two coolers and some snow tires $15"

I took I-70 almost the entire way.

oh and something else you might find interesting:

when left alone in a car for long periods of time, I will start yelling at... everything.

and

now one of my arms is slightly more tan than the other.

Dmoon - theres a show like that in east texas that my dad listened to for years. he had his little notepad at the ready and everything.

PMG - on the drive back from atlanta a few years ago i found that after about 9 hours i would start yelling at things too. mostly people on the side of the road but everything was fair game then. after it got dark i decided to have 'electrical problems' and see how long i could get away with driving without the headlights. in mississippi i went for nearly an hour...
