On average we eat a pound (or is it two?) of bug parts a year. Canned foods are the best for bug parts!

Man, you should be more worried about the flouride they put in your water. Which is why I drink nothing but grain alcohol.

Why do people care that much about bugs?

Seriously, and I know I am a dirty dirty man (though no hippy like Dead Inside) but I always hear people toss around these random facts about how many bugs we inadvertantly eat, or sleep on, or have in our eyes, or whatever. Why does this gross people out so much? My own personal view is that if the average person comes in contact with X, I won't worry until average people start getting ill-affected by it. I could care less what I eat in my sleep, or what is crawling about me that in no way impacts my daily life (or rather, negativly impacts my life in a way that I could possibly prevent). Jesus, with all the special factoids about all the trace amounts of feces we come into contact with, or what mites live where (mites! for chrissakes), you'd think we were all living in some sort of 100% sterile labratory. I'm just happy I don't have flies constantly buzzing around my head and being forced to eat grubs in some shanty in Africa, I could care less if somebody who wiped his ass once touched the door handle. Or if some microscopic organism is chilling in my skin. I'm not about to start wearing rubber gloves everywhere and sterilizing everything I come into contact with like some sort of obsessive-compulsive freak.

By the way, I work at McDonald's.

Jokes aside, that's my opinion on it. I hear people give facts about dust mite feces and how semen touched something once and I'm just glad I live in a society where that's enough to gross most people out. Stuff like that always makes me shake my head.

If it was canned raviolli you can rest assured that most of the bug parts (and feces!) in the "stuffing" are actually part of the recipe.
