Gonna take a little ride, gonna take a little trip
Well, this upcoming weekend marks one of the last free weekends I'm going to have before the 6-month (and possibly longer depending on our war footing). I want to spend it well. Here are two options.
One, we can make the Appalachians (sp?) in about four or five hours. We leave on Friday afternoon after work, camp out Friday night, hike/wander around all day Saturday, camp Saturday night, come back Sunday morning.
Two, we can drive up to Acadia (New Hampshire). A friend of the family owns a cabin up in those parts so we'd have a place to stay, and again, wander and hike and so forth.
I'm very eager to go inland a bit and see autumn because I'm going to miss most of it...so...given the choice...which would you choose?
And...while we're on the subject...I decided that when I get out I'm going to hike the Appalachian Trail before returning to civilization. Anyone done it? Anyone want to do it? Lemme know...
