Yehaw!!

Yes Now in addition to my boingo service (which only can be gotten in hotspots) I have My cell phone working so when I'm not in a service area for 802.11 the I use sprint. The connection is free AND I connect at a whopping 14.4kbps but I have bluekite wich dithers all the pictures to a blurry mass that is barely recognizable!

Any ways of optimizing a 14.4 connection so that I can surf like I'm at least on a 33.6?

a few reasons
1. I live on a ship.
2. I cannot connect personal computers/pda's to my ships network.
3. It would defeat the purpose of PORTABLE.

and if I was going to go high speed why would I dish out for a T1 if I don't have plans to use it to make money off of? Thats what Broadband & DSL are for.

I personally think you would look quite good carrying a PC, router and 4000 miles of extension cable.

Nevermind...

...I have a sprint phone, It uses CDMA and apparently does not support GPRS.

I think Sprint currently runs on 2G CDMA One, but is transitioning to 3G CDMA 2000. Which means soon I will have better access
