*** ASYLUM FORUMS ANNOUNCEMENT ***

In the neverending quest to provide top-shelf service to our growing community (well, escargot we ain't), we will be making some changes to the forums ...

• The Problems Forum was a fine idea when it was started, but hasn't really panned out the way we expected. Soon, we will be archiving the threads from that forum, and changing the name to "Suggestions" (in essence, creating a brand new forum). The intent of this new area will be to house all those great ideas that pop up here, as well as talking through plans for the website as its rollout approaches, and beyond. We'll also continue to field questions there about the site in general, including IRC (of a non-technical nature of course - Pangloss would be intolerable otherwise). The moderators of this forum will be: Joeycat, karen, and Chelle. (We chose mommy figures to deal with everybody's horseshit, cuz hey, who wants to fuck with a mom!) The site admins will also be monitoring this forum often and providing feedback.
  
  
• You will also see some moderator changes in other forums; we plan to continue giving many people a chance to moderate forums that match their interests. And we haven't ruled out additional forums as we see interest in them building (such as our new "Images of Desanctity"). One we have considered recently is "Gaming", which could include online gaming, as well as more traditional types (Chess, Card games, etc.), and eventually be tied to an area of the website where we could provide gaming options, and perhaps run competitions ... what do you think?
  

We know you all have lives outside of Asylum, but we would like to think we're a first resort when you want to escape. If you have any questions, post them here or send an email to the admin you'd most like to groupie! (Down sphinxy, down!!)

i like the idea of the gaming forum. i dont know how popular it would be, though. outside of myself, shotgun.messiah and one of the Goat people (skape & boy, i keep confusing them).

oh yeah, if there is a gaming forum, can i be a mod? video games are my fucking bible.

Pang? Did you drop out of the intramural Peat Clump Tossing League? Bummer. Well, perhaps a hot game of Backgammon would spark up your day.

The Problems threads will be archived in the TLF archives by the way.

We are working on setting up the Gameroom to where tournaments can be held and points tallied accordingly. Perhaps we will hold grand contests and give away cars or houses to the winners.

well, hopefully without giving too much away ill give up some details.

We would like an asylum quake server (password protected for asylum members only). If anyone has run a quake server and would like to offer advice it would be appreciated, get in contact with one of us.

Also, we would like to set up something like Yahoo!Games where you can play many games, from hearts to blackjack to checkers to backgammon, and every time you win your rating goes up, every time you lose rating goes down.

This may all be a ways away, yet it may be very near. At that point a gaming forum may be necessary to deter the inevitable onslaught of gaming threads on TLF, but we were considering starting the gaming forum soon not only to discuss the future of asylum gaming, but to also allow members to coordinte and discuss existing online games.

Anyways, feedback is always welcome and stuff. Also i think i have either A: Pnumonia B: Anthrax C: Bubonic Plague D: All of the above. God im fucking sick...
