Installing Win95 without a CD
I need help getting win 95 to install on a old 80486DX2 80mhz with 16mb ram. I know for a fact it'll go on there because my brother has a 386 25mhz with 8mb ram with 95 running on it. The 486 doesn't have a CD drive so I found the 30 disk floppy install and attempted to run it. Setup will proceed until it reaches the part where you pick the type of install and then it hangs, saying it cannot read Disk 3. The odd thing is that it doesn't even try to turn the disk over before it says this. I've even went through the entire 30 disk set, copying them all to C:/Win95 on a freshly formated and partitioned drive. When I ran setup from that folder it continued to the same part as before, this time it screamed for the windows setup disk. I even copied disk 30 which is named windows_setup and placed it in the a: drive at that point, but once again it doesn't even check it before it says it cannot find it.
Does anyone have a clue how to get this damned program on there? I was able to get Windows 3.1 to install on it awhile back so I know the computer works.
