So- My mom thought that 'googlism' thing was pretty neat. She asked me to enter the name "Peter Bardens", which meant nothing to me at the time...

This came up:
peter bardens is assured his place in rock & roll history
peter bardens is dead
peter bardens is currently battling lung cancer after a cancerous tumor was removed from his head several months ago


My mom quickly said "He's DEAD?" and I asked why she was so concerned. She told me that he was her first boyfriend when she was my age. "Havent you ever heard of him?" I of course hadnt, but it turns out that he was a very well known Prog Rock musician (http://www.petebardens.com/peteb/default.asp) ... She said he had a band called The Cheynes when she was dating him, and a guy named Mick Fleetwood was the drummer. She broke up with him when she decided to hitchhike around the world.

After the discovery of Peter Bardens, she decided to look up more people from her past-

Brocard Sewell (http://www.carmelite.org/laycarmel/brocard.htm) was a friend of hers and her sisters...When I was nine months old he christened me- My mum told me that he reached over, dipped his hand in a glass of water and just christened me. She was shocked, but kept her mouth shut...

She knew the sister of Mead Schaeffer, and recieved quite a few paintings from him. She looked up some of his paintings for sale, and discovered that they are now worth between 18,000 and 22,000 (we now have 5 of his paintings in mint condition)..

And if the name Profumo means anything to you Limeys (or well-educated-in-british-history Americans) look up the name Ronna Ricardo....She was my aunt..

I am quite amazed- it leaves me wondering what else my mum is keeping from me...
