Today I ran my first "race" in over six years of not competing or sticking to a decent training regimen. It was just a charity run, which the Navy lets us do in lieu of twice-yearly PT testing. I took first...the feeling of competition was great. I beat a bunch of people who acted like competitors...and I toughed it out even though I got major cramps...

9:20 (just a bit over 6 minute pace) for the first half, then died and finished up at 21:50. Back in high school I did these in under 18 minutes. Kinda shook me up. Am I getting old? Can I get back into shape (don't even call it a comeback)?

They gave me a free t-shirt for winning.

I guess in essence I did something right today, of which I am proud.

I am teh win. For once.
