Lit.

The other day while waiting in the food court at the mall for my friends to show up I pulled out my copy of The Collected Works of Rudyard Kipling.

And like in all my fantasies a girl walked up to me and said the magic words: "What are you reading?"

So I showed her that I was reading Rudyard Kipling.

And as it turns out she has read Kim so we discussed that a little bit.

And then I made the mistake of asking her if she was reading anything now.

"No," she said. "I don't read much anymore."

:disgust:

I don't think anyone reads anymore.
Now I'm depressed.

that happened to me once also, sort of. a girl called me for to make with the studying, and i was reading when she did. she asked what i was doing, and i said "reading", and SHE said "sounds like fun" all sarcastic-like. she was cute, too.
or so i thought.

Why read when you can get other idiots to do it for you and turn it into an action-packed movie? Man, it's not worth it if the image doesn't change every three seconds. Why do anything when other people can just do it for you?

I still read for fun, even though I'm often stressed out by my classes... Other students look at me weird when I pull out a book. This semester it's usually for free time between classes or when I'm cooking (err.. using the microwave), but I still read anyway.

It's been a while since I read a serious book though. Most of what I read is by Terry Pratchett. Fun, light reading, which is exactly what I need, really. The more serious books can wait till sometime when I'm not so stressed. Not that I've got any I've been meaning to read lately. Every time I finish a book, I have to sit and wonder what I'll read next. (Of course, the same goes for my anime, so I dunno whether that really means anything.)
