Anyone had any experience with dodgy media cards?

I have this compactflash card that crashes my digital camera, the cam works fine with another stick.

Solution, I think, would be to format the card, only thing is I normally do that with the camera, and the card crashes.......

Run a magnet over it? Throw it in a microwave for a bit?

The local photo developing shops seem to pleaded ignorance, "no, no we don't have the facilities to do that".

Probably just covering their backs for previous fuck-ups.

Happened to my dad and his shitty camera. Answer? He bought a new card.

Maybe get a compactflash reader for the computer. That'll make image transfers from camera to computer easier, too.
