Angst

Is it just me, or has there been an awful lot of it around lately? Not that I'm an exception, by any stretch.

Maybe it's the weather (in the Northern Hemishpere, anyway), but life lately has not been pleasant.

I, for one, am not looking forward to the winter and the holidays.

Thoughts, opinions, ideas?

2nd snow of the season was this weekend. I suspect a harsh winter is on the way. At the risk of being redundant, I'm jonesin' for the west coast in a bad way. At least, out there, "winter" means 65f and partly cloudy. I've gotta either fall in love again or get my resume' together. Damn.

Snow?! Stop that crazy talk! It's only been down in the 30's and 40's here for less than a week. Just thinking about snow makes me cringe.

No doubt. The weather here is a psychotic as I am. Between snow #1 and snow #2, it hit 80f. I still have hope for a nice long soul-purging bike ride down the local river trail tomorrow. Won't find out if it'll happen till I wake up and look outside the window. Even the trees here don't know what to make of it, some are bare, some are green, and some actually think it's fall (those are the best).

I saw snow for the first time this year tonight. I went to a Godspeed You Black Emperor!/Bardo Pond/Pan American concert tonight, and as i walked back to my car from the Metro, the freezing rain turned into snow before my very eyes. It was actually kind of neat. Except, of course, I was wet and cold.
*bighappysigh* Godspeed was so awesome. So, so awesome.
I'm not all that angst-y tonight, which is actually a pleasant change from how the rest of my week had been.

i know what angst is too , but i dont think winter is something that causes angst in someone.
at work tonight i got 5 phonecalls telling me that i m going to be robbed and killed. thats when i felt angst. angst that my life would end tonight. eventhough i knew that it wont happen i felt it , angst!
do you still think that winter makes you feel ängstlich ?

Winter is but a contributing factor. Loss of a dear love of 4 years over the summer is the root cause. Maybe after all it's just depression.

Death threats are not cool, and are certainly a more immediate cause of angst. Perhaps I should have titled the thread "existensial angst" instead. Good luck not getting knocked off. Seriously. Goodnight.

Yup and yup. If you're planning a ski/board trip, this should be a good year. I may try it if I get out of debt enough to rent the equipment. I'll take ya out for a beer or 3 if y'r in the neighborhood, lemme know.

iglo, the German word angst has a different meaning. In German, it means fear.
In English, it's depression.

In Finland autumn can be rather depressing. Raining, getting darker, colder and colder..When it starts snowing, the scenery gets a lot prettier, but I am probably going to move to some warmer country after a couple of years.

Ats, Denver gets a bit rough too, not as far north, but the altitude and position make for some rough weather. Then it gets warm again. I suspect I'll be heading for warmer climes before too long myself. I'd like to see Finland one day, but I think I'll go during the summer

Think I'll watch a little Springer now, seeing people far more fucked up than I could ever aspire to be always cheers me up, in a sick sort of way. Eh, at least it's amusing. Oh, goodie, today it's "sex confessions"!
