I think you got your answer RatRed. I don't know if anyone on this board is black, but we are all apart of a new generation or world that doesn't care enough about race to even have a discussion about it.

I think that is a good thing, because I don't want to think of life along colored lines. I just want things to be real discussions about poverty and global warming.

Uh, I don't think that we are at all.

the way i see it, it doesn't matter what color a person is. for all i care, they could be purple with orange polka dots (though that might cause me to inquire as to their medical condition). what matters is the person under the skin. if you're an asshole, i will treat you accordingly. if you happen to be a black asshole, i will treat you no differently than i would an asshole with skin the same color as my own. if you are a good person, a friendly person, i will reciprocate that as well, also regardless of color. melanin content is meaningless. it would be as pointless to discriminate against everyone with a certain hair color as it is to do so because of skin tone.

Wasn't that Christian Slater? And no, since he wasn't named Heather, he wouldn't be included in the racial discussion. I was using his presence in the movie (if indeed it was him) to illustrate the point that simply because an hypothesis (i.e., Heathers) is presented in the media doesn't necessarily mean it is factual (i.e., the male lead did not die in real life (if indeed it was him and if indeed he did not actually perish (at this point I hesitate to state certainly that he is alive, having not seen any mention of him in the small selection of covers of entertainment-related magazines I regularly scan while waiting in line at the neighborhood supermarkets))).

I've known a bunch of redheads in my life (the majority of my girlfriends have been redheads). Hell, I married two of them; the first was no slut but she sure could be a bitch, and we ended up divorced. The second was no slut, could be bitchy at times, but was the single best thing that ever happened to me. Unfortunately, she has been dead, at the hands of a black man, for two yrs and 2 days.

Am I prejudiced, racially? No, my prejudices run on different lines than race. Does the fact that my wife's murderer was black mean anything? Not really, although it helped him too escape justice for his crime.

Are the races equal? Hell no, they are not, considered as races. Take a look at the facts regarding the racial characteristics in the aggregate (I care nothing for individual anecdotal evidence) and you will see there are REAL differences.

Is any race better than any other? What characteristics are we measuring?

Define better.
