About three years ago I filled out a form in the name of John Doe for one of those family tree sites. I had to forward my e-mail address, it may have been ancestry.com, maybe not.

I have been getting an unbelievable amount of spam addressed to Mr Doe, the fuckers. Three years later I'm still getting the crap.

So if you're wondering where all the spam comes from that somehow knows what your name is, there's your answer.

Or, alternatively, does everyone get spam addressed to John Doe?

No, but my office email address gets about 15 of those "Prince Blackie from Zamumba needs business partner to hold 30 million dollars" emails every day, its so fucking annoying.

I watched part of 'Road House' tonight (Cheezy Patrick Swayze flick from the 80's) and John Doe from 'X' played the bartender. I always liked the song 'Burning House of Love' by 'X', so I downloaded it. Great song still, and he sounds like Wammo (or actually the other way around) in that song.

This would be my John Doe related incident recently. Sorry, nothing about e-mail.
