Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed has said he is going to leave the UK after claiming years of alleged persecution by the "establishment".

Mr Al Fayed said in a statement he was now going to live in Geneva, Switzerland.

The last time I was in Harrod's was in 1994 and I was awed by it.
I thought that it was the most magnificent store I had ever seen. I have been in Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, and Neiman-Marcus, none of them could hold a candle to it in 1994 and I have been in the leading stores in Madrid and Paris
