or maybe really come up against something truley hostile towards you and/or your loved ones?

the other night i heard serious noises upstairs and was sure it was something moving around, only to find all my pets in the room with me and both my kids snoring upstairs in thier beds.

i actually thought about grabbing my gun, i was that scared.

i didnt get my gun, i did grab the portable phone, and went to my kids.

that was my instinct, i just sorta went with it.

anyways, do yall have stories similar or what?

i dont know what it was dingle, i think maybe the racoons and the cats that live outside my house might have been on the wooden porch, and if they ran around it might make sounds that could be whta i heard...i dunno.

No, but a neighbor at my old house once jumped on to our roof and jumped down on to the patio. We though it was a prowler.
But she rang the door bell, we opened the door and noticed she had no shoes on. She thought someone was inside her house and she freaked out and decided to come for help.

I did have an intruder a couple of years ago

Stupid ass picked the wrong place to try & rob

The cat started going Psycho in the middle of one my favorite TV shows & I had to get up & go & investigate

There was a guy in my bedroom going through my jewllery box

I grabbed him by the throat & threw him into a hall cupboard where I kept him locked till the cops showed up

Not my own experience, but chasing intruders can be entertainment for the neighborhood.

My ex brother-in-law, whilst still married to my sister some years ago, was awakened in the night by her whispering that someone was in the house. He listened for a moment, and sure enough the noises so indicated. He got out of bed, took his pistol from the bedside table, and crept through the house, confronting the guy in the living room. The guy ran, my brother in law chased him out of the house and fired his weapon into the air in the backyard while yelling at the guy to stop. He did.

Of course, quickly every porch lite in the neighborhood was on, and a crowd was gathering. My sister called the local cops, my brother in law held the guy captive till they arrived.

It helped that he is a 6'2" fellow in excellent condition, with lots of practice in intimidating people, being a cop himself.

Would you run from a large, intimidating, angry man with a .357 revolver pointed at your head? Especially one who chased you oudoors whilst stark naked?
