Obviously, cigarettes and genocide are not directly comparable. It's simply the point that our system of government is essentially "majority rule" with a batch of Constitutional Amendments in there to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. Either way, individual's rights should not be infringed upon because the things they do with those rights are distasteful.
If you're a non-smoker, no one's forcing you to go to a smoky bar. Nor is anyone preventing you from opening your own non-smoking establishment. If there is sufficient demand for a place to eat and drink without smoke, then the free market will support it. That is, the people like you will give money to the smoke-free establishment and it will succeed.
Similarly, employees who don't want to work in the presence of smoke will flood the place with applications, allowing them to pay lower wages, helping them along the road to financial success.
Based on the almost complete absence of such bars, it seems that the market really doesn't support them. So the vocal minority bitches until the majority who either smoke or don't mind the presence of smoke get their rights legislated away.
