NBA Playoffs- I love this game

Alright, I'm just shamelessly ripping off the NHL thread (go Ducks!). Let's hear who you think is going to get it done. Yes, its a little late, the first game is already over with the Nets up 1-0.

What I think will happen: Lakers over Pacers in 5, Kobe as MVP.

What I hope will happen: Dallas over Boston in 7, MVP Nash.

What do you little niggas think?

West Ham are doomed having lost to Bolton.

I don't like Basketball at all. You might as well watch the last 3 minutes a lot of the time and just have ignored the rest. Unlike cricket where every minute of the 5 days could be of crucial importance (although not important enough not to get drunk while watching, obviously).

They say that cricket was invented to fill in the hours when the pubs were closed on a limey sunday afternoon.

There's a song in that...

"Limeeey sunday afternoooon, ain't got no time to worry..."

Since the Red Wings had a huge flame out and the Tigers are worse than ever, that only really leaves the Pistons to watch at the moment. I generally don't like watching basketball, but the playoffs are ok.

The NBA is not nearly as entertaining as college hoops, and nowadays none of them can hit a 17 foot jumper for their lives. Nonetheless, the Celtics will make work of the Pacers at the very least. I expect NJ to destroy them come second round, though.

The East is all about one team come playoffs, and that's the Nets. The Pistons are far too weak a scoring team to make the finals, the Pacers won't get past Boston, Philly's hot streak is over, and none of the remaining teams, barring T-Mac having a dozen consecutive 50 point games, will challenge the Nets.

The West's best team in the second half was San Antonio, in my mind. Kobe is too tired to keep going and that will be the fall of the Lakers come second round. Dallas and Sacramento both have damn good teams, but it's Duncan who will lead the Spurs to victory. He's the difference.

And of course, the West will kill the East in the finals.

Finals: San Antonio beats the Nets in 5 games.

even if the Avs dont win it fills me with joy to know that the Wings crashed and burned without even so much as a whimper. i bet you wish Hassek hadnt retired now.

You guys have your own threads for hockey and soccer, fuck off.

It was nice to see the Celtics win against the Pacers, hard to say whether or not they'll be able to keep it up the entire season. They only won by 3 points and Pierce scored 40. He's gonna need some help, can't expect him to do that everynight. That lil bitch Walker better step up.

The Jazz lost!! WOOHOOO!!! Nothing pleases me more than to see John Stockton and Karl Malone. LOSE! YES!

Phoenix won? I thought San Antonio would have rolled over them easily.

I'd like to see the Dallas Mavericks win the championship, but realistically, that ain't happenin.

A beautiful 3 pointer right at the final buzzer put the Suns up by one. I forget who shot it but it was a killer basket.

Stephon Marbury, the best player Phoenix has.

I hope it comes down to L.A. versus Philly so I can again wear all the "Beat L.A." and "Go Sixers" t-shirts I bought two years ago.

If Vegas' predictions come true, we may have to destroy him before we have to deal with all the gloating.

Um, have you watched the Nets play at all this post-season? A team comprised of me, Em's baby, Lu, Phil and Erinity could give them a run for their money. The only team worse than them happens to be Milwaukee. Don't expect either one of them to come out of the East.

Even tho the Lakers won today, I think Minnesota still has the upper hand. Two more home games, if need be, and it's tied up when a lot of people thought they'd be eliminated.

Why do you all think I'll be wrong every time?

I was wrong about the World Series thanks to Dusty Baker being a moron.

I was wrong about the Superbowl because I was biased (more the reason I deserved to be wrong, I suppose).

I was wrong about 2 of the 3 Final Four games. One right for once!

I was right about the Bruins sucking.

I will be right about Dallas sucking. And Indiana going down. And the Pistons going down. And the Lakers going down.

I guess I can just pick 'em to lose but not to win.
