No no indeed not. That would be WRONG. To say the least. And the real ale was off for the vacation, so it was Calsberg Export that I drank instead.

I know a small bar that serves $3 pints of London Pride, but heaven forbid, you would never set foot in a Den of Abominations.

Just polished off a six pack of "alfa", some crap lager that was on special.

Followed that up with half a dozen pop top Grolsch's, will call it a night. Cutting down is hard on the system, won't sleep much, and when I do I'll be wishing I wasn't.

All I have left is Coors Light and one Bud Light that random low rent friends have left in my fridge. I'm tempted to crack one open, but I know I'll just end up pouring it out. It's always worse than I remember.

Bergadler Premium Pils:

German, Long Neck, 50cl.

...............the saviour of France.

French beer (talking supermarkets here) is crap, not only is it crap, but they sell it in 25cl bottles "throwdowns". A bit more wedge and you might get a can of a decent size, loads more wedge and you'll get an imported beer.

Enter the Bergadler, a fine German lager, about 3 euro (4 $US) for a six pack.

One needs to go out of one's way to find a "LIDL" supermarket to buy it, but it's worth the effort.

There's a "LIDL" in my town, the queue's are a bit on the surreal side but the beer is worth it.

Went there today.

Wieckse Witte

"This is a pale, hazy wheat beer from Dutch brewer De Ridder (a subsidiary of Heineken, would you believe), also available in 250 ml bottles. It has a complex, slightly tart aroma with light, zesty fruit (oranges and lemons) and spice notes (coriander, with maybe a hint of cinnamon). The palate is very clean and refreshing, maintaining the complexity promised by the nose and adding a touch of light hoppy bitterness. In addition to orange zest and coriander, there are distinct honey and vanilla notes. All of this fades subtly into a citrus fruit and vanilla aftertaste, although there is an unexpected touch of roast chestnuts just before the finish. Despite having honey in the taste, it is a fairly dry example of the genre, and its moderate strength combined with its light, refreshing drinkability make it an ideal summer session beer, whilst being an exceptionally complex and interesting drink."

...............which don't mean fuck. It's going for half price this week in the supermarket round the corner.

Bavaria, out of a can, slabs of them, cheap as fuck this week.

Given up on Grolsch after years of dedicated loyalty to the brand, even had Heineken engrave "Grolsch Rules" on the giveaway engraved Heineken bottle opened they sent to me.

Must post a picture of that, and explain me changing of beers, but that would eat into elbow raising time just now.

Half a litre's no use to you, you got to take get the boss to take you and at least two colleagues for a pint.

Everyone buys a round, goes back to work, and at around four, the boss will agree that it's time to knock off, and head back to the pub.

Bell's Oberon Ale, Kalamazoo Brewing Company, cold, 12 oz/355 ml

A hippy I know in KZoo got me drinking Bell's, I know Mugtoe is a fan as well. Oberon is seasonal though, so I don't know if he's had it.

It's 10:40 in the morning...I'm getting a good start. I'm on Corona #2 for the morning...need my energy for surfing. I'll probably stop after this since I need to drive about an hour to get to the beach.
