X-2 *a spoiler thread*

I loved it. I think they did great at turning the comic series into a movie. Cause if you've read the comics, there's a shitload of characters and stories behind, and that have developed from, the X-Men. Is there that many comic fans though? Enough to make a movie from it? Because I'm pretty sure if you don't have any history with the comics the movie(s) wouldn't be as good.

The cameos were cool. I find it weird the Beast isn't in it though, or Gambit. I can see why the Beast wouldn't attract so many people, but Gambit is cool as hell. Anyways, all the characters in it were pretty much prefectly done. Night Crawler was kick ass, and the way they redid Lady Deathstrike was fucking cool. Wolverine freaking out was fucking awesome... and .... and.... the movie was kickass!

I hate endings like that though. Time to wait another couple of years. Who do ya think will be in the next one?

Try here.

Beast had a cameo, and Gambit was sorta mentioned. I kinda explained that in that thread. Like little gifts for the comic fans.

The whole comic-book-movie thing is just a big craze right now, and yes, there are either enough comic fans or people like the movies even though they never read the comics. Either way, these movies are paying off big-time for the studios, or there wouldn't have been so many made lately.

Yeah, I'll merge this in a few with the other X-Men 2 thread (if I can anyway).

Anyway, on the Gambit thing Roshigoth, Gambit is credited as being played by a stuntman whose name escapes me atm, and whose most notable piece of work is being David Duchovney's stunt double in the X-Files TV series. I find it weird that a real actor was given a film credit as being a major character (in the comics), who was, as far as I can tell, only mentioned as a name on a computer screen in the background of a three second shot.

Who knows? Maybe he was in it somewhere. Very possibly, he might've been stuck in that school-raid thing for a very short moment, or he might've been on the TV at another point and just wasn't noticed.

X2 did rock. I didn't really care for the first one, but they did this one really well. Nightcrawler was spot on, and I don't know why he was ok'ed and not beast. And being from Louisiana, we were all disappointed Gambit didn't kick ass.

As for the next one: Pheonix? I hope I hope I hope. That storyline would be SO BADASS!!!

Oh well, can't merge it atm as Dingle is still playing with thread URLs so we can be googlified.

Anyway, direct traffic to the other one.

Oh yeah, mojo... I wasn't trying to be mean, and it wasn't really a malicious tack (the other thread isn't exactly named obviously). I was mostly just directing you that way since that's where most of the discussion was taking place still.

I remember hearing her name said once. And at the end when Professor X is talking to the young students she waves.

When you think about all this, this could have been a marketing tactic. Put all these little cameos in the movie so people will go see it again and spend the money money.

I loved the X men movies, and I've never read the comics. I think I saw part of one of the x men cartoons once. X2 was a bit better than the first, they didn't have to spend all their time explaining who everyone was, and wolverine going nuts on those guys was spectacular. And as to the ending, well, I never liked that chick anyway.
