Don't bother. I just went through this thread from beginning to end. What a piece of shit. MstrG censored the fuck out of it. I guess people were having fun. Can't have that in anyplace called the "Asylum," now can we?

Besides a linked Homer Simpson picture, EVERY SINGLE PICTURE I posted was censored, whether it was "porn" or not. Every goddamn one. I posted a picture of a CARTOON, for cryin' out loud! What is "porn" about a goddamn cartoon? Or a woman with her back to you, shooting a gun at a target? Would that really corrupt someone?

The common denominator seems to be that every picture (except the one of my dick) was funny.

So that she-male's uncircumsized cock dangling in the breeze on the first page of this thread, or puffy's gaping anus is okay, but anything larger than an acorn gets the axe from the local moral majority, is that it? Sure says volumes. (Censoring another person's penis is as good as admitting you're hung like a chipmunk.)

This was explained before, but I guess you weren't paying attention (as if you could tear yourself away from self-aggrandizement long enough to understand the concept.)

Step 1: Proceed to http://www.asylumnation.com/asylum/asylum_images.php

Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Find the block of text beneath the word "NOTICE!!!".

Step 4: Read the text in the block, paying particular attention to "- No Porn! -".

Step 5: Heed.

You see, when Dingle first built the Asylum Image Bin for the benefit of the members, we were hosted in a facility that would have booted us quickly for carrying porn images. After a few months, I went through the Image Bin and removed any prohibited content. You were not the only person that had images removed, there were several. That your images seemed to be singled out should be no surprise. You were the heaviest user (along with JEB), and you uploaded a lot of porn to it, ignoring the instructions.

We have a different hosting arrangement now, though we haven't yet determined all the rules. If it turns out similar standards apply, you can expect we will once again go through the Image Bin, as well as attachments, and delete anything that could jeopardize our existence.

Nothing prevents you, or anyone else, from hosting those images yourself and linking them on Asylum.

The only reason I didn't get pissed off about this before was I didn't know the weasel had deleted every fucking picture in the thread, without even talking to me about it. Apparently, without looking at them either.

Go back and take a look. I started here May 15th. This thread started about a week before you invited me here. You can see somewhere around page four where I came in, and people's reactions. This is the coolest thread of all time, but people can't see my contributions because they offended MstrG's unicorn heart.

When I just reread the whole thread, it just is absolutely clear what the problem is here, somebody felt a bit "understaffed."



First time the"PRIDE" ever scared the chickenshit out of anybody.

It may very well be true that all your pics linked to that thread were removed from the Image Bin, if every pic contained adult content. Lu also had pics removed. And JEB. And probably another 15 people or so. I didn't go into that thread to delete, I went into the Image Bin. That had an effect across several threads.

Nothing pesky about it all. As Mugtoe pointed out after your post (and I mentioned in my first one), you're free to park those images on your own host and link them here to your heart's content. You will not be permitted to keep them on our server. I'm sure the Asylum member's hearts are warmed hearing you advocate a position that would see Asylum go away.

That thread you just quoted is from three months before I ever visited the Asylum for the first time (check my profile, I joined 5/15/02, that thread is from 2/02) yet you offer it as the only "proof" that I had come to you on IRC two weeks after I had joined, to ask you why you had deleted one picture.

So you are saying that you told me why you censored umpteen posts, by presenting year-old logs of IRC drivel? Why? What does that change? You still censored my posts, you fucking jerk. Peter asked about the deleted pics.

I explained what I did, why, and that I was still doing it.

I pointed out the "no porn" instruction on the image bin upload page.

Peter said he understood, and wouldn't bring it up again. He apologized for making the mistake.

The conversation was amicable.

From a completely legal point of view, as long as the content doesn't violate any local laws, I don't have any major objections to it.

However, and this is a fairly big however, the box is ultimately a developement machine of mine and as such might fall under the scrutiny of the company I work for. As such I'd prefer adult content to be kept to a minimum. If I ever should be called up on it I can claim ignorance of the few naughty bits that might exist.

Yeah, wishy washy answer. In short, I trust the admins of the Asylum to keep the content fairly safe, at least pictographically.

PT, you're a cool guy however MstrG followed a policy that they had already stated existed. Under UK law, even cartoons of nekkid birds and nekkidness used as a form of humour count as mature content and the removal of such images was/is perfectly a-ok.

P.S. I reserve the right to clarify my point further tomorrow morning. I'm halfway through a bottle of Bombay Sapphire and I don't really intend to stop.

You can post it here as much as you like; provided that you use your own image host.
I dont see the censorship in it at all. Nor do I see why this would be such a huge problem for anyone.
