There's a guy on death row in Georgia who is there because he wanted to commit suicide but didn't have the guts, so he shot two people in a walmart parking lot, drove himself directly to the police station, and turned himself in. In his confession he says he did it so that he'd get the death penalty. He even chose his victims (both white, he's black) because he figured that would increase his chances of getting death.

The coeur d'alene police department's last killing of a citizen (first in 43 years!) was ruled a police-assisted suicide. The guy threatened to kill his estranged wife with a knife, then he ran out of the house towards a cop with his knife gripped overhead. bang bang bang.
