I am apparently the only American soccer fan who hasn't seen it. $30 million plus at the US box office; that's huge given the initial distribution deal. And a boatload of glowing reviews.

It is a good film, worth the money. It's more of a comedy about asian (what we call asian) life set against a backdrop of football, though.

I was once fixated on some Hindi pop I heard belting out out of the huts for the dying alongside the ghats in Khatmandu. Toe tapping stuff.
I quite liked "Bend it like Beckham" but for colour and movement, "Monsoon Wedding" is a winner.

PS I quite like Beckham too.
