This guy is really rather prescient. The interview was done sometime before the war, apparently, but it doesn't give a date. I'd be curious to know more about his credentials, but he seems spot on about a few things.
I read some other interviews with him; he felt that the CIA had been downgraded as far as humint was concerned and that Clinton was the worst in that regard (he blames Clinton most for degradation of CIA capability). He alway seemed pretty close to the mark on a lot of the stuff that he says, I have thought.
He has also said that he believes that Iran's leaders Rafsanjani and Ali Khameini, personally ordered/authorised several attacks on US interests and personnel and that Iran has been in an effctive state of war with the US for a number of years.
His tone gets just a tiny bit conspiratorial towards the end when he seems to tie everything up in a nice bundle. But it was a verbal interview, apparently, and that may have just been a conversational convention on his part to make some sort of statement off the cuff. Dunno. But he seems to know the scene fairly well, that's certain. What's the link to the other interviews?
Read his book See No Evil, its interesting and gives insight as to his qualifications and they way the CIA has operated in the middle east over the years.
