Smug: Edenton, NC is right next door to my hometown and I lived there for a few months. You wouldn't like it.

Morehead City wouldn't be so bad though if you can put up with the tourist season. Besides, how can ya not love a town called more-head?

I'm in Ashland, Oregon right now. And Flocat, I live in Portland.

Both are nice.

Ashland is a time trap and Portland is a small and hip city.

I'd say, though, that anyone who received Medford Oregon on their list should take extreme offense.

If you need hills, or even significant variety in terrain, stay the hell out of Houston. Damned place is so flat that in a bad rain storm the water pools up (3-5 ft deep) because it is unable to run off quickly.

Hotter and more humid than Washington, D.C., it doesn't even have the saving grace of ocean breezes. I've been here 13 years, and every summer is more miserable than the last.
