Well after shedding many tears I let go of the box and sent little MooP off to his first stop. Yes it was delayed but atleast he's moving now. Unforunatly I have no pictures of his departure due to a broken webcam but below you can see his ticket.

10 days to 2 weeks until the first person gets him!
(umm, I don't know is comments should be posted or just the pictures and comments from those who have him at the time...)

MooP DOES HOBART

Overcomes the odds and makes it out of the rubble (minus one hair ).


MooP loves his temporary home, and displays just how shit the digital camera is that I've borrowed.

I only just got the camera, and I'm out of town tomorrow...come Sunday I'll post a big update with proper descriptions of our adventures, which will include a tour of Old Hobart Town, and so on. Sorry its been so long!

This first picture is of the famous Taroona Shot Tower, which is a relic from convict Tasmania. I thought it’d be appropriate for the asylum too, because it is vaguely phallic.

Shot tower again, with a faint glimpse of the Derwent River, which I live on.

MooP over looks the Derwent River, its possible to see the Tasman Bridge from here, although it doesn’t show up well. This is basically the view from my suburb, we are standing at the top of my street.

Same position, with a view of the Wrest Point casino which is the oldest in Australia.

This is a beach, which is about 20 meters (literally) from my front door, there is a bigger more popular beach over a little bit to the right, but I some guy intercepted me on the way there asking what I had in my hand.

Him: “Is it a dead bird?”
Me: “Uh, no, it’s a bit hard to explain”
Him: “Oh, it’s a voodoo doll”
Me: “Nah not really”
Him: “VOODOO DOLL”
Me (exit)


I swear I only took my eye off him for a minute.


This is the view from the wharf at the Salamanca, which looks up towards Mt Wellington, which is mostly blocked by cloud.

Some random historic buildings (now shops), which were probably built by convicts.

Where I got drunk last night.

Typical Tasmanians, wondering what the fuck I was doing with a doll and a camera. Nosy bastards

Aurora Australis (big orange thing), based in Hobart regularly goes to Antarctica for research. Hobart is one of the only ports to go to Antarctica.


There is actually a lot more to Hobart, but I’m pretty short on time at the moment, plus, walking around with a ‘voodoo doll’ gets embarrassing quickly, as Missjo will find out who I believe is next.
