Hmmm... wide open I think - we'll see who Man U buy in the next 24 hours. I think Arsenal could well pull it off again now Viera's staying - we'll see. Chelsea will have a hard time getting a brand new team winning out of the box, but if they do, they will be contenders for sure. Much as it pains me to say so.
My team? AFC Wimbledon to storm the CCL I think.

Prepare to come first or third this year! Chelski are going to finish 2nd i believe. Actually i would prefer Arsenal to win the league than have Manure win the league.
I think that Chelsea will gel quite quickly all our purchases have played in the Premier league before, are used to the language, and most importantly the majority are english and have played together in the England squad or at West Ham. No one needs team to settle into the english way of life.
I can see myself having big arguments with the Weasel.

Heck, with all the Yank players being snapped up by Premiership clubs lately, I don't know who to root for anymore.

Seeing as big business in football destroyed the club I supported for 14 years, you'll pardon me if I am bitter about millionaires in football clubs (and suspiscious of their motives) and disinterested in the Premiership. Can't see us having too many arguments. You know what I think of Chelsea and their support though.
AFC Wimbledon vs Sutton Utd on Saturday - now there's a clash of the titans worth watching.

i am glad that the highlights will be back on the BBC. ITV did a crap job with it. with the BBC it seems more 'official' and serious. ITV sports seem tacky.

More serious than describing the play while showing a picture of an empty field I guess.

Chelsea just bought another player in Adrian Mutu. Thats seven players now and 75 million spent since July 1st.
I think we have enough players now, Mutu isnt eligable for the champions league though so i guess he will play in domestic comps only. i hope he doesnt detract from Carlton Cole and Mikael Forssell too much.

he doesnt. Roman Abramovich does and he has twice as much money as Jack Walker did, or so it wouls appear. 75 million spent and Chelsea are now being linked with Makelele and Cisse. could be 100 million spent before the transfer window closes.

Will there come a point where Chelsea fans get fed up withj their team's owner buying all the shiny toys in the shop window, or is success all that matters (as it was, I guess, to Blackburn fans)?

oh I'm sorry. I was getting confused between clubs that buy their way to the championship. My mistake. Apologies all round.

surely the correct term is 'laundered' rather than 'spent'?

Buy the Premiership? is the trophy up for sale? if one could buy it why bother playing?
Hmm i gets a sense of jealously emanating from you. honestly are you telling me that if Everton had the same money and bought in a load of quality players that you would be pissed off about it. I doubt you would be saying 'send them quality players back! we want to have a homegrown squad, which may not be as good." my arse you would. One other thing, Chelsea bought exactly one player last year, and he was a free transfer.we also let 3 players walk this offseason. the years before we averaged 3-4 new players a year, which means all we have done is made up for last year, and replaced those who left.
suppose all Premier League players are nancy boys then.

my guess is for the imediate future sucess is all that matters, after we have won the league a couple of times then the fans will probably get a bit more picky and want an english eleven or something.
But come on, Chelsea havent won the league since 1955, thats a long time to go without winning it, and now we have the means to win it, and even the Champions league.
What Chelsea are doing is no different to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus. oh i suppose i should include Manure and Arsenal as well. How many Arsenal players are home grown. Ashley Cole and Ray Parlour thats who, everyone else was bought in, i didnt see anyone acuse them of buying the Premier league? *looks at Phil*

So still no sign of Urbanjunkie. what a wuss. I think his team could well be involved with the relegation battle this year. I think that Everton will finish higher than the Spurs. of course Chelski could well be the champs. especially if they sign the goal machine that is Hernan Crespo.

Presumably you don't mean to defend your team by comparing them to a bunch of utter cunts? Arsenal only look good by comparison with Man United, after all; objectively, they are cunts.
