I like watching athletics and the World Championships are normally pretty good. They are going pretty well so far. The crowds are pretty good (60 000 last night) so it is going a lot better than the ill-advised Edmonton games (and the performances look better so far, too). Sadly, the UK hasn't much chance of any good results (injuries, but also a bit of a lull in some events).

Is this on network TV in the US, or do you have to have ESPN or something like that?

The Swedish girl, Cluft, is doing really very well in the heptathlon.

Jon Drummond, in tears, has staged a sit-down protest at his disqualification for the second false start in his 100m heat, which meant that the heat was held up for ages. He still got disqualified, too.
