Alright so here's the deal guys...
In case any one was wondering, the idea of going to Billy Bob's for New Years, started as a pipe dream when I was introducing my english roomate to what Texans were like. It was us two that decided to meet up in Fort Worth and have a big fucking honkey tonk of a time to ring in the new year...the idea stuck, loads of people were invited and so that's were you'll find a bunch of us on New Years, in Forth Worth, Texas at Billy Bob's.
For those of you who don't know anything about the place, it's the World's biggest honkey tonk with about 30 some bars, 40 pool tables, a game room and casino and ladies and gentlemen they even have a live bull ring. You bet there will be cowboys and cowgirls and drunk Texans galore so come ready. Damn straight I'll be dressing as a cowgirl for this party so I encourage all you guys to dust off your belt buckles (large plates work too) and get your boots from the closet!
Here's some of the details...SO on this night, December 31st, 2003, Kenny Cheseny will be playing live and tickets for the show are about 20-25 us dollars. If we really want we can get a group package thing and have a private bar and waitress and shit..but its kinda pricy and cost doesn't include alcohol so it might not be worth it. Other then that you just got to pay for beer and food. I've already checked out a bunch of the hotel prices and if we can get four people to a room we can get the price as low as 15us dollars a night! Theres loads of restaurants and shit in town, the have museums (even a colored cowboy museum haha) and stuff a huge Japenese garden and even a cowpen cattle maze (you know in case you get bored of honkey tonk).
They will have the bull ring open on New Years and although audience members can participate you have to actually be qualified and able to prove so to ride any of Bob's bulls. There is no mechanical bull (as I had hoped) but Mexico isn't that far so if any one is up for a drive....
I'm driving down to Texas (prolly with paint if he would get his ass moving) from Kansas and will be there on the 30of December and stay till the 1st or 2nd of january. SO do it up guys get your tickets! (I'm willing to help out with hotel and ticket reservations you just got to let me know).

As fer goin' t'Mexico, it's a helluva long drive from FW, but I recommend Nuevos Laredo. If'n y'all go, tell th'senioritas at El Papagayos (just past th'front entrance o' boy's town) ol' JEB said "howdy".

And, gawd, whutever y'do, DO NOT end up in a Messican jail. I seen th'jackass cry fer his momma only twice in his wretched life, 'n' that time I paid his fine in Chihuahua was one of 'em. In fact, y'might oughtta consider just parkin' yer car 'n' gittin' a taxi t'take ya over. Traffic accidents are considered criminal offenses over there.

Yeah, I'd likely head over there from the farm if I knew you guys were there, though I tend to stay home on Amateur Night (NYE). You guys are likely also welcome to drive out to the farm a half hour west of Ft Worth and say hi to me and Dad while yer in town.

Well we have a time, New Years ( or possibly the day before?). We have a place (Billy Bobs, or Mug said something about poeple going to the ranch possibly). And we have kewl people (or at I think Mugtoe is kewl, but maybe I was wrong about that being the general opnion)

Yet still there seems to be little interest in this thread. Perhaps, Paint, we need a new formula.

Yeah so what the shit? There is definitly little interest in this thread which is so sad because Dallas is going to be amazing. Alright so I'm going whether or not anyone else is (even if it means discovering just how hospitable Texans are), and well I know at least some of my friends up in Maine are flying down...so at least someone will be there (although I can't promise how cool any of us are). If my brother gets off his ass he is probably going to go (little help here paint?) and he's pretty cool. I think we got party! I'm curious about what friendly folks have couchs and floor space...

I'm sure it'd be fine to have you guys out for dinner, though we're not geared for company. At the very least, I'll show up in town to meet you guys. so... I live in north Dallas, and you are staying in Ft. Worth, but I can act as a free taxi service from the airport to my apartment or to ft. worth... I can also put a few people up for the nights they stay and will cook for you....so...in a nutshell, all people would have to do is pay for airfare... Also, the botanical gardens and japanese garden in ftworth are totally spectacular and FREE, well worth a visit since you'll practically be sitting on top of them... I know of a lot ot do in the area, and downtown ft. worth and the sundance square have some fine places to drink, party, or just look around (i.e. they have better museums and a cultural district than Dallas), tho I know a lot of places in Dallas, particularly north Dallas that would be fun to meet up at, Mug might be a better sorce for this than me... also, I'll probably skip the BillyBobs field trip because it's going to be worse than Hell in there on new years... shit kickers + alcohol + a party atmosphere = grabbing, touching, fighting, and ultimately fighting... far worse than the usualy dance club, but still a great opportunity for a unique cultural experience...

oh, and one nice thing about ft. worth is that all their cultural mumbo jumbo is in the same area within walking distance of eachother...
