Rome indeed 'rawks'

First thing, they all drive like madmen, which is especially exciting in the center part of Rome on the narrow little cobblestone streets. The fact that the tiny bits of roadway not being arbitrarily used for cars to drive or park however they desire is taken up by thousands of scooters and motorcycles makes it even more fun. The scooters are even more fun when they are being pioted by pretty women in stiletto heels, and I saw a lot of that. In fact, I saw a lot of beautiful men and women, and a lot of ugly ones as well. It seemed like they tended towards extremes there, either you were pretty and slender or hideous and fat.

The city itself is pretty fascinating, and wandering around through the various ruins is amazing, even though one must dodge the various pickpockets, scam artists and other troublemakers.

The food was good, the wine was great, but there didn't seem to be any 'bars' as I think of them as an american, other than the hotel bar, and they aren't very good with mixed drinks, which drove Sam and Mike crazy as they have certain drinks and that is all they drank, whereas I was happy to drink beer and wine.

The brothel was entertaining simply for the factor of watching Sam try to talk to the russian girl, who spoke about zero english and not much more italian, whereas Sam speaks english and german. However, at ten euro a drink for us, and 20 euro a drink for the girls, Sam and I fled the place quickly enough to return to the hotel, leaving his co-worker Mike there. Mike made it back to the hotel about 4:30 a.m. while exceptionally drunk. He proceeded to immediately call his wife and explain that he'd been to brothel and that he was really really drunk (he doesn't normally drink very much and said the next morning that was probably the most he'd had to drink in one night. My fault, I told him he drinks like a girl.)

The whole flying part of going overseas was a pain in the ass however, next time, I'll make sure to stay longer to make it worth the hell of the travel.

A brothel in Rome? Are you mad? Far too expensive. The place to go my friend, apart from Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia or thailand, is Bulgaria. Cheap, attractive, and you can get a really good salad afterwards.

We were supposed to stop over in La Spezia for Christmas and I had plans on visiting St. Pete's for Midnight Mass...never got to do it thanks to the whole WOT thing...you lucky ass.
