Not if it is generated on their reservations. It was my understanding that states couldn't tax the reservations. I'd expect that any Indian casinos that do pay anything to the state are doing it for PR and not because they were forced to by the state government.

In alberta the Gov't runs Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) and allows casinos that they take the money from. (not completely I'm sure, but a good portion). They say it lowers the tax rate in alberta and I guess we are still the only province in Canada that dosen't pay a sales tax and the cost of living here is pretty cheap. Our deficit is Nil from what i recall. All this is great but we also scarficed alot of money to education and medicare to achive all that, I'd like to know how much revenue is really made from the legalized gambling and what they do with it.

Anyways, you can't tax them on the res. But that would only make sense if the money earned was being spent to help the Res. and it's people, and i doubt it is...5 million to a politican would be unheardof up here, i don't understand american politicking.

I think that it is high time that the US government put the Indians in their place, took that prime land they've been given by past political bleeding hearts and put them on some crappy land.

I think it's all ridiculous, and akin to reparations. It IS IN FACT REPARATIONS.

Now I can only speak from experience based on my locale, but american indians live up to their stereotypes damned near dead on around here. Arrogant, long-haired stinky drunken thieves, all of them. I've never met one who was not.

Casinos is only one of a lot of greivances against injuns. I could go on all night, because

MN is especially hit hard by these "reparations". Enough of this "Whitey cheated once along time ago so we get ongoing special rights indefinately" charade.

What they actually get is complete indemnity, basically their own mini-country with 100% free support from the US gov on top of whatever they may or may not make running their
casinos, like they really say how much they make.

So it was proposed last year that publically owned slot machines be placed at an off-reservation race track (within 2 miles of the largest MN casino, Mystic Lake) which would pay for a new stadium and support all kinds of programs all across the board. Injuns caused a MAJOR FUCKING HISSEYFIT over this, apparently only indian tribes can compete with

themselves. Their line was basically "vote against slots at cantebury because alot of people will lose jobs at mystic lake". Uh, blow me? Yeah, How dare whitey move in on their gambling monopoly... err, sorry Rudy Redskin, youre 50 years of glory are spent, now prepare yourself to *gasp* act like a normal citizen.

In MN, Red Lake is one of the largest inland lakes in the country, and one of the best fishing lakes in the state for sure. Every Minnesotan pays a part of stocking Red Lake every year so the Ojibwe, who "own" 90% of the lake (which is ridiculous in itself) net the lake dry, just so we can stock it again for them next year.

Millacs, once one of the best walleye lakes in the country,is now a shoreline wasteland of broked resorts and guides because the injuns won in some case over an obscure treaty giving them right to milleacs fishes (even though the very same treaty gave white man the right to shoot injuns off reservation on site and without discresion.) so now they net the best fishing lake in the state into vacancy like they do all of their lakes, and waite for the dnr to re-stock it, which they fucking do.

whatever, i could go on all night about indinas. As noble as "Dances With WOlves" makes them seem they really are worthless fucktards, probably BECAUSE of the shit theyve been handed. Tell a people for long enough that they've been wronged and deserve a free ride, and they start to believe it. Take black people for instance...
