My wife went on an Alaskan cruise a while back and got an ulu knife and cookbook.
Last night we made Salmon and vegetable chowder. It was unbelievable, one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life. The closer you follow the recipe, the better, but I can see where substitutions can be made. You could use frozen mixed veg for the fresh stuff, canned salmon (or tuna) and maybe omit the wine, but use everything else the recipe calls for (especially fresh thyme and real whipped cream).
Bone appetite!
