Bloody hell

So I got a phone call this evening, my mother, said that my ex-wife had called and wanted me to call her. So I called her to see what the hell she wanted, seeing as we hadn't spoken in damn near a year, not since the day Sabine and I ran into her. That was a grand moment indeed.

So she informs me that her father was on the Colorado Vital Statistics site and couldn't find a record for our divorce. I'm not sure why he was looking for it, but he's weird old coot anyways. I've just looked myself and well, it's not listed. Fucking lovely.

So now I have to make my way down to the court house and see if they have on file there, or if some incompetent fucknut lost it. It might seem unlikely that this would happen, but the El Paso County court is the butt of many jokes because they are famous for simply losing things. Several of my friends got out of rather ugly speeding tickets simply because the court lost the file.

I don't find this amusing in the slightest, though she sure seemed to find some humour in it, not in the least because I haven't a clue where any paperwork on it might be if I had any.

Fuck.

-m

With luck there might be also no record of you ever having been married.

mord .. this could work out. if the el paso county court doesn't think you got divorced, then you can claim your wife (notice there is no 'ex' prefixed) on your next tax return. then you can go to her house and start stealing shit and selling it .. technically if you're married it's your TV, too.

damn, that sucks.

If the court lost it, do you think she'll let the next divorce be easier (and swifter) than the first?

I don't know. when I had the pleasure of meeting her.. the second she saw him she grinned and happily shouted "Eric!" then ran over and almost tackled him in a hug. maybe she'll want a reconciliation!

that would suck, if I recall correctly didn't it take like 3 or more years to get the divorce finalized?
