Rugby World Cup: France vs USA - Halloween

I do hope you lot beat the French... but I shall laugh if they beat you as well. England will of course be winning the tournament because we are the best in the world. USA plays Fiji tomorrow.. good luck. That's all I have to say other than........ GO USA!!!!

You can't be serious, the French are going to score at least 10 freedom tries to the American's 0.

The US is also going to get humiliated bigtime by Fiji tomorrow.

Is there any online radio or something covering the game? Reading live rugby sucks.

Should be on Radio 5 Live extra (digital)

The USA are lucky. the Fijian's will be missing Rupeni Caucanibuca after he rearranged Olivier Magne's face. and got banned for 2 games. Apparently, after getting back to Fiji he personally apologised to each member of his village for the digrace that he had brought upon them. he will however be back in time to humiliate the Scots, so that's all right then

Namibia vs Rumania. there's a massive game. In Launceston, tasmania as well. Except that the Aussies have done their usual clever thing when it comes to sport, and divided the population of the Island into two. Those from one half wear yellow and support Romania, those from the other half wear blue and support Namibia. Apparently it's a 40,000 sell out. Fucking brillinat.

Look out for the Namibia no 6. He apparently headbutted a Lion to stop it killing his wife's baboon. Fucking hell, glad I'm not the opposition fly-half.

no, someone in their wisdom decided a sports forum was superfluous, they decided that all sports would go in TLF. i wonder who it was who made those decisions?

its better to have sports in the TLF anyway, they get more traffic there.

No it's not.

Sports run at a different pace, as in the game is on saturday, as opposed to a thread dying due to lack of interest.

Where is G anyhow's? Been a while. This place has been almost pleasant as of late.

73mins: Referee Joel Jutge fails to award a yellow card, despite yet another US infringement.

71mins: The US are camped inside their own half as the Fiji pressure begins to tell.

69mins: Fiji number nine Moses Rauluni makes a blistering break from a line-out, but the US defence holds firm.

64mins: Seconds later the US are penalised again. Little's kick goes over off the post. Fiji 19-13 USA

62mins: A superb five minutes of play is brought to an end with another US penalty. Vunibaka steps and dances through the US defence but is 'sacked' - NFL-like - by Kort Schubert.

59mins: Hodgetts is penalised in front of his own posts after deliberately falling forearm-first onto Koli Sewabu. Little gives Fiji the lead. Fiji 16-13 USA

56mins: Both sides make a number of changes as the match enters its final quarter. The US begin to give away more penalties and are again pushed back into their 22.

53mins: Api Naevo finishes off a superb 50 metre move with Vunibaka, Delasau and Tuilevi all involved.
Little adds the extras. Fiji 13-13 USA

48mins: Fiji earn a well deserved penalty, after Dave Hodgetts is found handling in the ruck. Little takes his side within a converted try.
Fiji 6-13 USA

43mins: Riaan van Zyl touches down after a magnificent kick ahead from Hercus, who adds the extras.
Fiji 3-13 USA

40mins The second-half starts poorly as the referee blows up for a crooked feed in the scrum, lineout and a forward pass in the space of two minutes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

40mins: The whistle blows to bring an end to a disappointing first-half for the favourites.

36mins: Fiji touch down through lock Ifereimi Rawaqa after some intense pressure, but are called back for blatent crossing.

35mins: US full-back Paul Emerick suffers a blow to the head but recovers to take his place on the field.

32mins: Little makes amends for some unimpressive kicking out of hand with Fiji's first three points.
Fiji 3-6 USA

30mins: Again Fiji make a break - this time through Tuilevu, but the support fails to materialise.

26mins: Delasau again makes the hard yards, wide on the right, but again knocks on in the tackle to the dismay of the Fiji fans.

24mins: Hercus doubles the US lead, after Fiji are again penalised in front of their 22.
Fiji 0-6 USA

22mins: Fiji full-back Alfred Uluinayau puts in a superb last-ditch tackle on US centre David Fee.

18mins: Delasau continues to make a huge contribution for Fiji, but again the US defence holds firm just outside their 22.

15mins: Fiji continue to make a number of basic errors, but look by far the more dangerous in attack.

11mins: Fijian winger Vilimoni Delasau dances through four US tackles, but knocks on in the tacvkle to the disappointment of a packed Suncorp Stadium.

10mins:Fiji opt to kick to the corner after winning a kickable penalty but are penalised for not releasing.

8mins: Hercus kicks straight from outside his 22. Little puts up a huge up-and-under but Fiji knock-on.

6mins:Mike Hercus gioves the USA the lead with a well taken penalty from wide on the left.
Fiji 0-3 USA

4mins: US captain Dan Lyle shows his class with an impressive run through the Fijian midfield.

2 mins: Little makes a good break with Seru Rabeni coming close after a strong run.

Match kicks-off 0800 Fiji opt for Nacanieli Seru ahead of Richard Nyholt at tighthead prop in a late selection decision.

The pair had been bracketed in the starting line-up until veteran Joeli Veitayaki passed a fitness test.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fiji: A Uluinayau; M Vunibaka, A Tuilevu, S Rabeni, V Delasau; N Little, M Rauluni; N Seru, G Smith, J Veitayaki; I Rawaqa, A Naevo; A Mocelutu, K Sewabu, A Doviverata (capt).

OH OH OHHH!!!!

The Eagles throwing everything into it now. They lose the ball and Fiji win it back. They run it back, but USA hold out. Now the Eagles go wide - a loose pass - knock-on. Fiji have the scrum and they knock, the Eagles kick ahead and have the scrum. Dalzell feeds and USA up to the 22 now. USA in the Fiji 22 now. Hercus takes the ball up. They go left, there is space, Dalzell, holds and releases, it bounces and bobbles, but Schubert is there and he is over! What a try! Crucial conversion now from wide out for Hercus. Can he win the game for his team?
74 Fiji win the penalty from the scrum. Little will kick at goal. No, they decided to go for the tap - big decision where the penalty would have helped them. They tap and try the maul - but they are penalised. USA kick to touch and work their way out of their 22. Eagles go wide, there's a knock-on. Fiji scrum - what drama here!

The US rugby team are apparently getting better (unlike the Canadian, who are going in the other direction).

With nearly almost as many regular players as that other mighty rugby nation Scotland, the US could yet aspire to those heady heights.

Always good to see there's another subject that skalie knows fuck all about.

And what's that supposed to prove? You think black refers merely to someone's skin shade rather than their ethnicity?

Muppet. I am 'white' or 'caucasian' and I look pink and do not resemble a chain of mountains in Central Asia.

So yep - another thing you appear to know fuck all about.

well France beat Fiji 61 - 18... Fiji beat USA 19 - 18. Doesn't look good on paper for the yanks, but who knows!

Put my post in the wrong fucking thread

Fiji won but didn't deserve to. Moral victory to US and two freedom tries to one.

Italy beat Tonga in a great game and score some nifty tries in the process. Nice one.

Watching Uraquay get pasted by Manu Samoa
