Any name whose spelling deviates from the mainstream version (but I don't mean foreign spellings). That's just fucking stupid.

I do include my own (Jon) in this statement, even though mine is only a minor misspelling. I don't include my brother's, since his is a foreign version of an otherwise typical name.

I have a name that nobody else at my school has. I've never even heard it in this country before. It is fairly similar to a known, but not extremely common, American name.

I have never been picked on, or humiliated because of my name. On the contrary, I am often told that I have a very cool name.

I think that unless you name your child "KickMe" or "Giraffe" or something, he will be okay.

Understood, Avondale. It's just that some names just don't sound right...

Although I've never met a person who actually had my name spelled exactly like my name, people are constantly either a) misspelling my name, or b) assuming my name is really Jonathan. I think the second pisses me off more.

Sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I had a less common name... I've got the same problem as Fiend, where someone will say "Hey John!" and me and 10 other people will turn out heads.
