Internet Relationships
I found this on my travels..
quote: The Internet is more than a cooperation of computers. It's a cooperation between people. And where people meet, even anonymously, it seems that Romance and Love will enter the equation as well.
Alot of people think falling in love over a modem is unusual and perhaps even rare. But, you would be wrong. Perhaps the very nature of a web site brings these couples together, you'd be amazed at the number of people who've met on the net and have found their significant other through these means. Some have met through email, some through chat or forums, some through personal ads. All have found a connection, that elusive thing that binds them to another human being.
As we spend more and more time on our computers it seems to be becoming the most natural thing - finding that connection with someone over the internet. A glimpse into the future might show us that this may be the number one way people find their significant other. Althought not yet widely accepted by society because of the stigmas of perverts and child molestors most people who meet on the internet can have a long lasting friendship and relationship that moves onto a long term relationship without having a bad experience. Our society tends to focus on the negative because it makes for better media and gossip. It's more entertaining to be scared then to be content.
My question to you is. Have you ever fallen in love over a modem? And if you have how did you handle yourself through it all? And what was the end result of your relationship?
Your thoughts on this please folks
