I am in the process of making the transition from grunt jobs to the service industry, and I also intend on going back to school full time this fall. So I need to focus more on my social identity and effective communication. I'm not one of those who has social anxiety; I'm just self-conscious sometimes. Opening up to others is a more gradual process with myself than most, but it does happen with enough time. Also, the fact that I just moved from a small town to the biggest city in the country was a big change that I'm still getting used to. I've made some good friends here, but they aren't close, and I haven't been in a relationship with a woman for about 2 years. I'm not really asking for helpful advice; I just want to express this transition I'm going through with words. Perhaps some of you can relate. (or if you would rather flame, then be my guest.)

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing.

Terrorism, global warming, globalization, the economy, the war in the middle east, Israel, the irreplaceable loss of undiscovered species as we plunder the rain forest, abortion, censorship, all of this definately takes a backseat to the issue of "too many taboos."
