Know about seizures?

Here recently my husband has been passing out for no reason. He did this about a week ago, the most recent time, and this time he went into to convulsions and was out for nearly 30 min. The doctor's say that there is nothing wrong with his heart, the only thing at the time was that he had a urinary tract infection and his potassium is low.
I personally think he may be hypoglosemic(I've no clue how to spell that) At any rate, does anybody have any thoughts on this. We are going to a brain dr next month and I have been reading up on a lot of things, the only real thing that everything is really pointing to is eppilepsy. I am just scared and don't know waht to do.

If you trust your doctors, then putting yourself in their care is probably the best thing you can do. Your neurologist will check for known neurological causes. Just make sure you give them as complete and accurate information as possible.
There are certainly plenty of folks here who know more medicine than me, but here are the first questions that come to my mind: When he passes out, does he just fall over, or is it always accompanied by convulsions? Does he have any warning? Does he have any history of diabetes, himself or his family? (FYI: it's "hypoglycemic", I think. )

This must be really frightening for you. If it's any reassurance, many/most causes of seizures, even most epilepsy, is manageable. Be there for your husband, and let us know what's up. The internet may not be the best place for moral support, but we're here.

Thank you. He always says he is feeling sick. He always thinks he is going to have a heart attack. He is 31 and his dad his first heart attack at 38. He does have a major anxiety problem (for example he will not go in public unless it is really late at night and noone is there adn he will only drive short distances (like a mile) His head kinda twitches to the right and his eyes half way roll back right before he passes out. He just kinda 'falls asleep'. It is really weird.

she's had kids. She posted pics of them for the paedophiles in IoD. I thought you would have found them already actually given you predilection for the young'uns.

How much stress does he have in his life or does he not tell you when he's stressed? He might be having a severe anxiety/panic attack and/or possibly suffer some form of depression.

I'm no doctor but he might benefit from Xanax.

You must have me mistaken for someone else, Philip.

I prefer the more mature women, one that has been around the block a few times, with tired eyes, a weary smile and a nice pair of slightly tattered bomb doors hanging loose

Actually I had two c-sections, but that is besides the point. Actulally, I don't think that he is depressed, he does get angry really easy.

Or a blow job.

One of the two.

Xanax it is then.

Prepare for a long long LOOOONNNGGGG drawn out episode with the doctors. I know from past experience with siezures that they will keep you bouncing back and forth between specialists until you finally say to hell with it or the insurance drops you, which ever comes first.

With me my problem was/is due to a leaking heart valve and the resulting low blood pressure. This diagnoses took over 6 months to determine and about a million trips to every know doctor in the world it seemed. At one point I had to stay in a hospital for a week with monitor wires glued to my skull the whole time. It was like being a tomato on a vine....

If your husband does indeed suffer from anxiety disorders then expect the docs to try and pin it all on that. I met several people in my ordeal that had had that label slapped on them and doctors tended to treat them pretty shabbily.

And in my case they never solved the problem. I was told in so many words that I would have to learn to live with occaisonally passing out and having siezures. And I have had to do just that...

They tried him on paxil and it didn't really help.

I was on Zoloft and that didn't help me either cuz even though I was suffering from depression, I also have anxiety issues and w/ anti-depression medication it usually takes a month to kick in anyways and then another 30 days to see results.

If he doesn't have high blood pressure then you might wanna ask your doctor about anti-anxiety medication....

And then like Funkyrooster said, an extra BJ or 2 a day probably wouldn't hurt

He gets all he needs. He was only on the paxil for a month and a half, do you think that wasn't enough time to see real results?

I was put on a 3 month script at first. He started me on 50 mg of Zoloft and around the 2nd month he said that by the end of the 3rd he could increase it to 100 mg. However, I kept telling him that yeah it did help somewhat w/ the depression but I was still feeling that anxious feelings and nerviness and such so that's when he went w/ .5 mg of Xanax.

Do you know if they tested his thyroid levels? I know before they did blood work on me first on the count of something to do w/ your thyroid being a source of these types of issues but its been so long ago I can't remember.

I didn't go with him to the doctor. They did a lot of blood work and such. He has been to the emergency room three times and I think all they really did was piss tests and ekg and the the regular IV, oxygen, and BP monitoring. I am going to go with him to the neurologist though. Will they automatically test the thyroid thing or should I request it.

So, 'Lil Lulu, say your husband has to have an extended stay in the hospital for whatever. Would that mean you'd be posting less?

I'll keep that in mind next time I get a rash that won't go away or a burning sensation whenever I tinkle.
