In the summer of 2002 I workedor Dell tech support for the Dimension line and Dell will not ship any part or computer to any middle eastern country. In training they said it was due to terrorists using components for missle guidance and possible remote bombs.

On a ironic note, the majority of Dell tech support is still provided by India where the agents are paid about $5 a week and run old Win95 machines. I think only recently they have discovered that these ppl still can't figure out how to read from a screen (you just click on a box from a basic scenario and ask the questions as they appear) thus sending a lot of the jobs back to the US.
