Post There was a tornado today.

Doppler indicated one six miles northeast (I think) of Beatrice, and I didn't get to chase it. Damn. Last one of the season too, I bet.

Was it something you would do for anybody?
Was it what you'd only do for me?
Or was it something where you acted when you saw the need
And knew that there would be a way the act could be repaid
And so it may, but for today
I want to thank you for putting me back in my snail shell

There's no greater force on earth than a tornado. Except for all of us at "the Asylum" of course!

Any adrenaline junkie is probably a storm chaser at some point in their life. I am not an adrenaline junkie, though. I do it because they are one of the most beautiful, and graceful forces of nature. That, and they're easier to get away from than a hurricane or an earthquake.

I lived on the east coast for 13years. Hurricanes are the most pathetic excuse for a storm ever. Little thunder or lightning. You can see it coming for days. If you get away from the first 50miles from the caost, you're not too worried. You might loose everything, but you life is easy to keep.

A tornado is no less than the Finger of God. Tornados have a certain thrill about them. They are mischevious daemons. Frightful little buggers can pop up with out any notice. They are as enchanting as the apocolypse itself.

Finger of God is right! I was within a half mile of a large tornado as a kid and it was friggin awesome! It scared the living hell outta me. You haven't lived until you've seen a oak tree fly away.

Tornados rule. When I was in Kansas I was an amateur storm chaser (meaning when a tornado showed up we would all get pissed and go in our pickups lookin' for it.)

They are really fucking cool.

And yeah, I heard about the one off of London. That must have been interesting.
