Sports NFL Off-season

The Eagles have rectified both the problems they had last year by signing Terrell Owens and Jevon Kearse ( i now expect to hear the predictable claims of 'injury prone' and 'locker room cancer') how does that compare wtih your team. Oh year we traded our third string QB to Miami for a 2nd round draft pick (fantastic business deal) and lost our vet CBs, a solid RB and a quality LB.

How is your team doing?

have fun with owens...when he realized how big of a mistake it was leaving san francsico for an offense that i doubt will make his primadonna ego happy, they will see why we cut him loose ^_^

he has played with Reid and McNabb before, and theres only one way in Philly, Reid's way, just ask Jerrimiah Trotter. You (i'm pressuming your a Niner) didnt cut him loose, you got scared that you were going to lose the court case and thought it better to get something rather than nothing. You could never have re-signed him and your other FAs, the 49ers were in cap hell.

i agree, the eagles have gotten a lot better in the off-season.

so much so, that had they also acquired a new coach, i'd be tempted to think they might make the super bowl.

TO will make philly a better team.. but there is no denying he's a cancer to the fucking NFL. this whiny shit that he's been pulling lately is fucking ridiculous. you can bet every defender in the nfl is going to try and knock his ass out everytime he makes a catch.

speaking of catches, the catch of the day is smoked dolphin. what the fuck? they organization pisses me off. they should've fired wanny the day after the season ended. he's a fucking bum. i'm also not sure about their off-season moves. if they get david boston, i'm cool with that. i think he's a quality player, and hopefully his old WR coach will settle him down. now if only they had someone to throw him the ball. great, now we have three mediocre quarterbacks on our team. feely might've looked impressive for a few games, but shit, i wish this was like a carnival where we could trade three medium sized stuffed animals in for a large one. this is crap. we need a good quarterback. period. the dolphins are a real talented core but a bunch of fucking underachievers. signing third string quarterbacks and third-rate offensive lineman is like trying to patch the hull of the titanic with rizz's man juice.

after firing their coach. they need to trade up in the draft. if they are going to get boston, they should trade their first and third round pick and someone solid like chris chambers to san diego for their first round pick. guys like eli manning, or sean taylor, or larry fitz, or, fuck, even robert galley are what the dolphins need. not has beens and never was's. if they cant afford to trade up that high, shit, trade up into the teens and pick up phillip rivers. ugh. the dolphins piss me off sometimes.

*EDIT: I DEMAND A SPORTS FORUM!!!!!

Ty Law is being a bitch, whining about his contract to the media. He has two years left and is among (if not) the highest paid CBs in the NFL. He is also 30 and wants a franchise deal. My thoughts are he will be gone from the Pats by the end of the season if not by draft day in a trade. He has his rings and dosent care about anything but the pay, sorry the euphemism in the NFL is "respect". Anyway I do believe for as long as he plays as a Pat he will give his all on the field. He is a professional in that respect. I think by leaving the Pats on a nasty note he will be reviled by the region and it will cost him after his retirement. The NE region tends to love the warriors of any sport who gave their all for our teams and were loyal. Ask Lawyer Milloy how many endorsements he is being offered now or after he retires from the states in NE. The only person I can think of who asked to be traded and isnt demonized is Ray Bourque. After all the time he spent being the best defense man in the leauge for the Bruins, he just wanted a shot at the cup, all of NE wanted it as well. He got it in Colorado. NE was in complete joy for him. Hell, we threw him a massive victory celebration. Sorry hockey off topic.

Pats dont seem to have taken any massive hits in free agency and have a boatload of picks for a superbowl champion. Running back is a problem, they may trade up for an earlier pick but I doubt it. Belichick's route seems to be looking for team players as opposed to "marquee" players. You take the best talent in the first two rounds, you take the diamonds in the rough after that.

Losing Woody is the wost thing for them that has happened in the off season.

I hope the Colts pick up Lynch since he's been cut from Tampa Bay.

Any word on Warren Sapp or Randy Moss trades?

Sapp is not going anywhere fast at the moment. Moss trades are sheer speculation, he is simply too good a player to trade. I think the Deadskins are more likely to pick up a player like Lynch, or possibly the Raiders.

Corely Dillon seems to be hinting that he wants to play in silver and black. And Miami got the steroid pumped (or at least looks like he is) David Boston. Ty Law is the highest payed CB in the league, followed by Chris McCallister of the Ravens and Woodson of the Raiders both of whom are franchise tagged. I think the Redskin have picked up some good players with Portis, Springs and by adding a decent QB in Brunell. Gibbs will certainly make them more of a force to be reckoned with. NFC east will be tougher this year but the Eagles should still win it.

TO's a douchebag, but it would be tough to justify NOT taking him if the opportunity arose. The Eagles were only 1 cheesesteak sandwich away from ridding themselves of Andy Reid and becoming a team I could support. Now they're going to have to wait for TO to get stabbed outside a nightclub, too, before I can start rooting for them.

The Pats took it on the chin on both lines. Woody was a lousy center, but once they took the ball out of his hands, he turned out to be one hell of an offensive lineman. We're not really one of those teams that relies heavily on an offensive line buying tons of time for the quarterback or opening up huge holes for a dominant running game, so his departure shouldn't hurt us too much there, but we may really miss him on the screen plays. Overall, I don't think he's a huge loss, but it's never fun to watch Pro-Bowlers pack their bags.

On the defensive side, I don't know what you do to try to replace Ted Washington. Admittedly, the Patriots' defense played almost as many downs with 2 or 4 down linemen as they did with their "standard" 3 lineman set, so they certainly aren't locked into a 3-4 defense, but nosetackles of that caliber aren't easy to find. I was really starting to enjoy being a run-stopping team and I don't want to go back to the way things were 2 years ago.

I imagine that Ty Law's days are numbered here. I'd like to see them trade him to some shitty team for a draft pick or two next year, but it seems like just releasing players is this organization's preferred way of dealing with shit like this. I appreciate that approach, because it minimizes the drama, avoids a lot of morale issues with the remaining players and it's a nice little "fuck you" on the way out, but the only thing worse than seeing Pro-Bowlers pack their bags is getting nothing in return for it.

If Ty doesn't want to stick around and play for a team that cut his only buddy right before last season began, now that he's got a pair of rings, that's his business. In my ideal world, he'd renegotiate his contract to try to reduce his cap number and finish out his career here. He and that stupid fuck of an agent (the same one, by the way, that Lawyer Milloy uses) can't seriously think that any team that wants to have any degree of longevity can afford to have a cornerback count as $10mil and $12mil over the next 2 years against an $80mil salary cap.

Whatever. I can understand why money might now be his #1 priority. He's won the championships. He was an absolute fucking stud during the last post-season. He's getting old. (I just looked it up. He's a month younger than me. Ouch.) His stock will never be higher. Time is now against him. If he'd prefer to wallow in obscurity for the rest of his career, making the extra cash, that's not entirely unreasonable, but referring to offers that I consider to be fairly reasonable as "insulting" and "a slap in the face" and then saying "we all gotta eat" as though the deal that was offered would force him to resort to eating catfood to survive is just fucking asinine. Carl Poston, agent extraordinaire, has him doing a little monkey dance, flinging his shit around the cage to try to force a trade. It'll work. He'll get his payday. He probably won't ever get another endorsement deal, since he'd just finally gotten his first local commercial this off-season. And he'll hopefully have a long, financially rewarding career, hating every day that he has to go out there and be the best player on a team that never has a shot of achieving anything worthwhile.

I can't wait to see what Bill does with those draft picks. I think we have 7 picks in the first 4 rounds. We go late in the first round (21 and then 32), so I don't imagine we'll come away with any of the big name running back prospects, but like DI said, that's not really Belichick's style, anyway. But then again, Belichick's style seems to consist mainly of doing whatever's necessary to surprise everyone, so maybe he'll use a couple of those extra picks to trade up for one of the first 5 or 6. Whatever he does, I'm onboard.

Suddenly our posts are supposed to pass some sort of "who gives a shit" test? Need I remind you that you are the one who is universally loathed and derided for being irrelevant, inaccurate and irritating?

I'll stop posting about whether or not the Eagles are worthy of my support if you stop posting.

Then Roman should fire Ranieri and hire Paul Bearer as manager.

and any more linkage between Chelsea and Martin O'Neil, and I might have to unlease my packs of genetically altered superman commandoes to quell such rumors.

Any word on teams that are interested in trying out now former WWE Brock Lesner? I heard a lot weren't looking at him cuz they think its all a ploy. I'd actually watch my NFL is someone bodyslammed an opponent or clothesline a ref every now-and-then.
