Angry Psychic vampires

Check out this story: http://www.salon.com/health/feature...ires/index.html

This is crazy, but I think I am a bit of a person like that myself. It only shows in real life, I think . It seems that sometimes I feel depressed, and I feel like I need to be with other people, and I 'drain' them, somehow. I am somehow manipulative in a very subtle way..Not good.

I don't _want_ to do this, at least a large part of me doesn't want to, but it happens. Especially with people that I feel are somehow 'superior' to me. This is really nasty. I don't want to be like this.

I guess the only way I'll get rid of this is
to talk about it with other people, and also
spend some time on my own so that I´ll get to get along with myself, think about things, get lots of exercise etc. Maybe stopping my occasional drug use would help too..

All right. Comments along the lines of "You are absolutely nuts" are welcome, but be creative!

I understand what you're saying, Ats...

Maybe one way of breaking that cycle is to try a combination of a few things. Whenever you are talking or listening to people, watch them carefully for cues that they might be bored, frustrated, anxious, or whatever. If they are, thank them for listening, and back off. Ask them how they're doing too.

Also, see how many things you can resolve on your own. See what kinds of solitary things make you feel better (and get away from the computer and physics problems a bit! *grin*). Usually, I try to find something new to do, even if it's hokey (like I went on a tree identification binge a few weeks ago), or I write. My hands shake too much to paint these days, but I used to paint a lot as well.

None of this is a perfect or automatic solution to any situation. I hope you find something that works for you. Being conscious of ourselves is both a blessing and a curse.

Nothing wrong with Anton LaVey, it's the plagiarism of Anton LaVey that's bad.

When/if I have a child, and if it's a boy, I'm going to call it 'Xerxes'
I love that name, I reackon it's kick ass!!
I dunno what i'd call a girl though.. maybe Azrael or something..
Wierd names are my preference
hehe

Oh, and if you haven't noticed Ats, you ARE in THE ASYLUM. We can't exactly call you nuts now can we?
Maybe if you said you DIDNT have voices telling you to burn thin... what? Oh, sorry, Burn Farm animals now!!
*giggles*

*skips off to the farm with a can of Kero*

Actually pyschic vampires are fairly common. You might feed off of someone elses high, but that doesn't make you a vampire. It just means you dump all your shit on somebody else! I've got a bad habit of hanging out with psychic vampires and then dumping my shit on other people.

Thanx for the advice. Yeah, maybe I really worry too much about studies. What a silly thing to worry about.

Aw, are you stressed? Maybe you drink too much coffee?
