Is anyone else having the problem where they post something and it doesnt show up at all?

I was having this problem at home this time, several times...

Is it just me?

When using Microsoft Internet Explorer with this forum, that sometimes happens. Not that your topic or reply doesn't show up at all, but that *you* can't see it. If you go back to the topic listing, you can see your name down there as the last person to reply. But, no matter how many times you hit refresh, you still can't get to see the topic.

It's a bug in IE 5.5. Go figure. I use Netscape to view this place precisely because of that IE bug. The only way round it, as far as I know, is to wait for someone else to reply to the thread you posted in, or to reply somewhere else. *Then* you can see what you posted.

There are caching options you can set in IE (to force the browser to get the page from the server every time instead of getting it from your local computer's cache) but they don't make a damned bit of difference for me.

So. Sorry about that. Until a bug fix comes out (or unless Dingle can do some forum wizardry here) , we may be stuck with it.

And, *ahem, we know where this thread should be, don't we?

you can also try:

tools > internet options > tempory internet files settings and set it to 'every visit to the page'

there is also a meta tag that could be put in the head of the forum to stop it being cached at all... i'll post the code after i restart

I had this problem the other day in Netscape. I posted my Win4Linux thread in WIT and it did not show up, I just presumed it was my connection being shit. Then two days later I went there and Pangloss had replied to it.

yes I know I am bad, but in my own defense, for some reason I cant log into the technical problems forum (or whatever it's called). that was something I forgot to mention. I think it's a problem w/the software at work tho. it's just a pain in the ass fer me.
