The latest rumour from Westminster

Blair celebrates 10 years as leader of the Labour Party in May. Rumour has it that he will surprise everyone by stepping down as leader on the anniversary to make way for Gordon brown. Brown will then call an early election for October.

Would be interesting if it happened and Labour wont he election as well. One month before the election of the King in the US.

I liked the Lib Dems when Paddy Ashdown was leading them because they were pretty much Heathite tories. Since Charles Kennedy took over as leader (yes I know I helped his election campaign) they have lurched to the left to a degree which I cannot stomach. The Tory Party on the other hand has taken a step back towards it non-ideological driven roots... thank god. Thatcher's later years ruined the Tories, and they are just now starting to come out of that rut they were in.

of course you were. I've always been a tory at heart. I still believe Marx's description of history was correct though.

marx was the first to give a comprehensive systemic analysis of society.

But his fatal flaw is that differential control of the means of production is not the only - or necessarily primary source of human misery.

Cheers
