I'm thinking of selling my body
To a pharmaceutical company that wants to test generic drugs before putting them on the market. The reason is 1.I'm eligible(I don't do any drugs and am a non-smoker) 2. It's easy money ($4500 and I'm a lazy fart) and 3. I'm curious about myself biologically and would like to experiment on myself too.
Your thoughts?
There will be side effects, but the risks are low because they are variants of pre-existing drugs whose effects are already well researched.

Volunteering for drug tests can be a way to make decent money, but it is NOT risk-free. Variants of existing drugs can have significantly different effects, depending on how they vary. I'm not at all telling you not to do it, but don't think it's money for nothing. There's a reason it pays so well.
Redguard undoubtedly knows much more than I do.

I understand that there are risks. It's kind of cruel, don't you think? Luring in innocent, ignorant, poor people like me with all that easy money. If they had any decency they would test on nursing/medical students who know more about just what they're doing. I'll do my own research on the drug before going ahead.

So it is true that Amgen is testing their new Gay2AID drug. I read something about this when I was doing some investment research. They claim that it may heterofy homosexuals, treat AIDS, and quench your thirst, all in one tiny purple pill!
Some side effects may include: dizziness, drowsiness, numbness in the hands and feet, skin rash, rectal bleeding, heartburn, constipation, minor to moderate hair loss, sore gums, difficulty urinating, blindness; ulceration of the tongue, throat, and esophagus, diarrhea, joint pain, minor to sever flatulation, impotence, vomiting; sensitivity to poultry, fish, starch, carbohydrates, and red meat; itchy or dry eyes, moderate to severe deafness, boils, hives; eczema, seborrhea and the heartbreak of psoriasis; oily skin and hair, tooth loss, genital lesions, minor swelling of the brain, gangrene on extremities, sterility, sleeplessness, irritability, bed wetting, night sweats, hemorrhoidal infection, disco dancing, weight gain, leprosy, hallucinations, weight loss, severe acne, gall and/or kidney stones, liver damage, heart failure, cancer, memory loss, dry mouth, and in rare cases death.
I'm thinking you should go for it, Plum. It's a purple pill and everything.

Assuming they have to follow human research rules at least as strict as those we do in academia, they will have to have an extensive consent form, with full details, disclosures, etc. Human subjects are *extensively* protected in academia, and I have to assume that experimental drug tests have equal or stronger safeguards.

I had a friend who did any clinical trial that would take him, like at least a couple a month for a while. Of course, I did find out later that he also sold his dick on the streets when he needed a little extra cash, but don't let that dissuade you.
I am guessing that it requires significant time involvement from the participants, which is why they pay that much?

This kinda reminds me of the 'experiments' the govt did on some our guys in Desert Storm...
One guy I know got a shot over there..and now his neck swells out to his chin at random times...he's almost suffacated three times now...
another is all skin and bones and wrinkled like an old man...and he is in his late 30's now...looks like he's 70-80 yo...
but plum..if you do it...do they fix you again if it all goes wrong...? or do you have to pay for any treatment you may need later yourself...?
