I'm on dialup, so I can't watch it now, but I like Shiner Bock. I just have a reflex reaction against anything light. The best homegrown brewery in the States is the Kalamazoo Brewery that puts out Bell's. Bar none.

for a cheap beer shiner's as good as i've found. can't hardly drink it any more after having too much. The winter brew is excelent for the price.

Shiner is a mere shell of it's former self (and that ain't sayin' a whole lot!).

Sisyphus sounds intriguing. I'm disappointed that they don't have a regular porter, however. I'll call em and find out where I can get it locally here.

i'm not sure where in Texas you are, but their distribution is pretty limited at this point (but growing steadily!). they are all over the Austin market and at several bars and stores in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio & Fredricksburg.

but Sysiphus is only available seasonally in Austin. (it took 6th place out of about 50 at the Barley Wine Festival in San Francisco!)

their anniversary party is going to be June 26th in Blanco - beer, food, music, & great fun! they are also located mere blocks from the Blanco river & State Park, so it's great for camping & swimmin'.
