For those of you who don't know, SLH was raised in Oregon. Born in Texas, when his mom and I split up she went to her family in Oregon with the kids, when he was 3. He just moved down here to live with me in April of 2000 after Julie's murder.

good luck Jed. Never been to Oregon. But Northern California almost qualifies and I lived there for a couple of years. Love that part of the country. Read thru PT's article and made me absolutley nostalgic for the old days. Not saying it was all ok, but we were on the right track. Why do we still need to flex our muscles in the world and shoot the shit out of each other? Why can't we just live simply and grow food and love our neighbors? I was an east coast hippy who was about 7 years too late, so didn't get so out there. But I would have and CA or Oregon would've been just the place to do it. My first husband and I set off for the Cascade mountains in 1972 to go live communally with some friends. I was 3 months pregnant with my first child when we left. Ran out of money in Moses Lake, Washington and found out our friends had abandoned the effort and gone home. So we lived in the irregated desert that is central Wanshington state and started raising our baby boy. Always will wonder what would've happened if we had made it and connected with some others. Probably would've fucked up the kid for sure. But I don't find it "hilarious" (PT) and can certainly see the intentional good in the effort. Long live Oregon--good luck Jed.

I IS IN TEH ORYGUN!!!!
actually got to my mom's house about 1pm (pacific time). did not get inside until almost 5, though. her and my stepdad were both at work. umm...... i made the trip that quickly by driving pretty much non-stop from dallas, tx to some out of the way place called burley, id. that'd be 26 hours mostly spent behind the wheel. but i is here, and alive, and i somehow managed to never get pulled over. dankies, folkses.

oh yeah. lu looks way too much like my little sister irl. no porn gifts for her.
