Sometimes it doesn't pay to be kind......
I was lucky enough to have a seat on the train to work. The particular train carriage I was in was quite packed. Anyways, this heavily pregnant and quite attractive woman gets onto the train and in a surprisingly arrogant tone (and French accent)announces:
"I am preganant....someone get up".
Being a gentleman - I ignore her tone / and acknowledge her physical state - and get up and offer her my seat with the words (and a smile):
"You can sit here...."
And thats what she did. She sat down without a thankyou or a smile or nothing. I stood there looking at her waiting for a response. She was fucking oblivious. Ok, getting up to offer your seat is the right thing to do, but she was behaving like she was royalty and it wasnt expected of her to acknowledge my existence. The situation was crying out for me to say something to her. And I did. I had to:
"The words you're looking for are 'thank' and 'you'".
She looked at me, clueless to why I was still standing there. I finally walked away -making sure I didnt say anything I'd regret.
I suppose, I take things too heart far to easily. I just expect some common courtesy now and again - regardless of baby-in-tummy.
So, do I forgive her because shes expecting a kid? Or is this the way all French people behave?

This is confusion am I confusing you?.
"You spend your whole life figuring out what the point of life is, and then
you die" - someone.
